Healing takes courage, and we all have courage, even if we have to dig a little to find it.
― Tori Amos
I want to recognize you in your search towards healing, change and growth through seeking counseling. It takes courage to make change and even more to ask for help. May what I have to offer be a resource and refuge for you wherever you are in this journey.
I support my clients in dealing with unique challenges related to cultural/ethnic identity, men's issues, adolescence, growing up, sexuality, managing transitions, life purpose, relationship, spirituality, childhood trauma and more. All of these conditions can lead to chronic symptoms including anxiety, depression, stress, focus/attention issues, anger, energy mismanagement, etc.
What Is Therapy?
Healing is a matter of time, but it is sometimes also a matter of opportunity.
― Hippocrates
Therapy is a collaborative process of growth that enables us to explore and understand our conditioning with the guidance of a compassionate witness. Change begins by first gaining awareness of our Self, along with the habits, patterns and choices that hinder and support us. Through reflection and creative work we learn to make more skillful choices and decisions aligned with our core values. Therapy is work. It is a deeply personal and relational work rooted in honesty, self-discovery and vulnerability.
Choosing to be honest is the first step in the process of love. There is no practitioner of love who deceives. Once the choice has been made to be honest, then the next step on love's path is communication.
